If your browser doesn't have many security restrictions (for ActiveX in Windows) now is beeing downloaded - look to the bottom of this page - to your machine (if you don't have yet) the Squeakland plugin. If not, click the image

All open source software (Linux, by example) has many " distribuctions", many different flavors, different versions - sometimes incompatibles - of the same.
Many of the creators of the "Croquet distribuction" of Squeak are also the creators of the "Squeakland distribuction" that has, like main orientation, the use of Squeak by children and the publication of their works using a browser plugin - the main orientation of Croquet is different: the use of 3D and peer-to-peer.
BY THE WAY: We will have soon some basic lessons about peer-to-peer and its use by Croquet.
Darwin said: "The nature doesn't go ahead doing jumps".
I believe that ,in the future, we will have the dominance of 3D interface and peer-to-peer. But to go there, we need to pass through many other routes. And the use of a browser plugin having a 3D space inside - like our chat area, created using the ADOBE product, for Windows IE only: Atmosphere - could be a good option for Croquet.
We will use the Squeakland plugin at this course to show intermediate steps of some exercices. You can publish any Squeak project inside a web page using (for Windows IE) the tags:
