DMU-AVALON HOMEWORLD: 3D SPACE FOR TEXT CHAT

If you have the Windows Internet Explorer you now have a virtual space to go to chat about WPF (Avalon) and everything you like.

You need also NOT to have a pop-up blocker (or liberate the installation and use of our software).

Click this link to open a new page where will begin the download of the plugin (created by ADOBE for its phase-outed product Atmosphere) that you need, to install the 3D environment.

(BTW: I hope to recreate this space using Avalon soon...)

You will see a Bar like that of the figure:

After the download of the 5 Mb plugin (automatic installation) you will see the 3D space - like the first figure.

If this is not working, download it from the ADOBE site and install the plugin manually:

To walk click in the space area to activate and use the arrow keys. To look up/down use: CTRL + up/down arrows. To jump: SHIFT + up arrow.

To chat, click in the bottom input area to activate, type your message and ENTER.

To change the generic nick name ("New User") to, by example: "Peter", type:

 /nick Peter

You have the possibility to change your avatar by some of our pre-created avatares:

To use him like your avatar type:

/avatar http://www.dmu.com/soldierCastle.AER

To use him like your avatar (it's the "default") type :

/avatar http://www.dmu.com/nobody.AER

To use him like your avatar type :

/avatar http://www.dmu.com/teacher.AER

To use him like your avatar type:

/avatar http://www.dmu.com/blondeGuy.AER

But you can create many "customized" avatares.

There are two basic types of avatares, one for men and other for women:

You can "personalize" the colors of: hair, body, arms, legs. And you can create new designs for: the face and the chest.

Step by step:

  1. Create a new folder at your PC whose name can have your name: johndoe.
  2. Download and unzip one of the files into the new folder:

    avatarM.zip - for men.

    avatarW.zip - for women.

  3. Using the Paint (or other design editor), open, modify and resave the files:

  4. At your site, create a folder whose name can be: johndoe and upload to it all the files of the similar folder of your PC.
  5. To load your new avatar inside a space type in the input chat area:
    /avatar http://your-site/johndoe/myAvatar.AER
  6. If you make modifications in some existent avatar, you need to create a new folder having a new name in the webserver and upload the modified files to it.
  7. Use your imagination creating new faces:

There are some buttons in the Tool Bar:

Enjoy! I see you there!
