Having the primitives, we can create new objects using Boolean operations: union, intersection and difference.
IMPORTANT to note that, if we have 2 objects, the result of a Boolean operation will be A NEW object! The two "operators" remain existing and can be delected.
Our exercice will have a Cylinder and a Cone.
To do an Intersect or Difference in Object Mode we select the two objects. The new object will not have the part that is the intersection of the two or will be this part.
Select in the bar of the View: Object | Boolean Operation | Intersect or Difference
Like the result of the operation is a NEW object, we need to move the olds to see the result. We can erase the olds if is the case .
Click to liberate the objects.
TIP: If you did some error remember that "Alt + U" will open a popup list having the last operations. You can click that to be returned.
The Difference operation is the only one in which the order of selection is important. The first selected object (more lighted purple) is subtracted by the second selected object.
The other Boolean option is Union but is easier to select: Join Objects because we will not have a new object. The two existent will be jointed.
