BASIC MODELING - PART 3

Sometimes, modeling, we need to deform a primitive moving only an edge or a vertex.

Our first exercice will be to create a truncated paralelogram (look the next figure).

Having a Cube at the world (Edit Mode), we need to click the "Edge select mode " button. Rightclick the edge to select it. The better place to do this selection is the Perspective View. But this View is not good to move the edge because you can create some undesired distortions. Choose the best View and do a Move of the edge - the usual way: pressing "G" and moving the pointer and clicking to liberate.

And we have the truncate paralelogram.

Sometimes is useful to duplicate an object. It's easy. Select the object and press "Shift + D". The dublicated object is over the old and selected. You need only to move it.

You can also deform an object pulling/pushing one of its vertices. Click the "Vertex select mode" button. Rightclick the vertex to select it. The better place to do this selection is the Perspective View. But this View is not good to move the vertex because you can create some undesired distortions.
