BEEING A NEWBIE

Now that you are an SGAG Beginner, you need to learn how to be an SGAG Newbie.

Imagine that the copy of the Louvre Museum that was constructed in New York has the same building of that from Paris but all the paintings were replaced. Where, in Paris we see the Mona Lisa, in New York we have something different.

Like an SGAG Newbie you will have a copy of the SGAG Default Gallerie at your blog (Blogger) but all the "browsers" will have images, links etc. that YOU will create and install!

Like we said, SGAG is not a generic 3D environment for chat, like SecondLife or ActiveWorld, but a show-room for an special selection of your posts, photos , videos and musics that were created at: Blogger, Flickr, YouTube and mp3.com. So: you need to learn first how to put these posts, photos, videos and musics at these institutions. We will not teatch this. At their sites you will find easy instructions about how to use them.

The SGAG Default Gallery has 4 "browsers" and you can install 2 photos, 1 post and 1 music or video (like we have at the official Gallery). When you are an Installer or a Constructor you will know how to create customized galleries, having more and different objects. Be pacient by now...

Lets go to learn the details:

We will first to talk about the post from Blogger.

VERY IMPORTANT: The SGAG browser only is compatible with a Blogger blog that has the template Rounders3. You need to use only this type of template for your blogs.

You need to open the "SGAG Template" you have installed at Blogger. There you will see these lines:

...
//////////////////////////////////////////////
////AREA ABOUT DEFAULT GALLERY
//////////////////////////////////////////////
//The Default Gallery has one panel for Blogger,two for Fickr and one for YouTube
////If you are a Newbie or higher change these values for that you like .
//Blogger
'HASPANEL1="yes";'+
'PANEL1IMAGE="default";'+
'PANEL1TEXT="default";'+
'PANEL1LINK="default";'+

//Flickr1
'HASPANEL2="yes";'+
'PANEL2IMAGE="default";'+
'PANEL2TEXT="default";'+
'PANEL2LINK="default";'+

//YouTube
'HASPANEL3="yes";'+
'PANEL3IMAGE="default";'+
'PANEL3TEXT="default";'+
'PANEL3LINK="default";'+

//Flickr2
'HASPANEL4="yes";'+
'PANEL4IMAGE="default";'+
'PANEL4TEXT="default";'+
'PANEL4LINK="default";'+

//column logo
'LOGOIMAGE="default";'+
//message
'INFOMANMSG="default";'+

//// If you are a Beginner or higher, change the name of the room for chat by one specificaly yours (by example: the first characters of your name + room):
'ROOM_NAME="DMUroom";'+
///////////////////////////
...

A post is an web-page, having an address. If you go to an specific post (not the generic blog) you can copy the address from Internet Explorer.

You need, at the SGAG Template, paste this address at the two parameters PANEL1IMAGE and PANEL1LINK. Someting like, by example:

...
//Blogger
'HASPANEL1="yes";'+
'PANEL1IMAGE="http://myopinionafdj.blogspot.com/2007/09/oscar-peterson.html";'+
'PANEL1TEXT="default";'+
'PANEL1LINK="http://myopinionafdj.blogspot.com/2007/09/oscar-peterson.html";'+
...

When someone go to YOUR copy of the SGAG Default Gallery, will see an image of YOUR post and can go to YOUR blog to read it completely.

When someone pass the pointer over the browser having a post, will appear at the Chat Area the text:

"You can go to the blog having the complete post, clicking the little red cube over the panel. Returning from the IE you will came here!"

If you like to change this message, you only need to change the value "default" at the parameter PANEL1TEXT. Something like:

...
//Blogger
'HASPANEL1="yes";'+
'PANEL1IMAGE="http://myopinionafdj.blogspot.com/2007/09/oscar-peterson.html";'+
'PANEL1TEXT="This post is about the great piano player Oscar Peterson. Click the red cube for more informations";'+
'PANEL1LINK="http://myopinionafdj.blogspot.com/2007/09/oscar-peterson.html";'+
...

If you don't like to have this browser at the wall, change the parameter HASPANEL1 to: "no".

At the next lesson you will learn how to install YOUR photos, from Flickr, in the SGAG browsers.
