DIMENSIONS, ORIENTATION AND CAMERA MOVEMENTS

WOW! You are at the universe - the real, not the DMU (Digital Media Universe)! You are on the Earth!

How do you know what are the right directions?

The fundamental geographic orientation is: right arm to where the sun arrives. In front is North etc.

Blender has a coordinate system, that ARE NOT the Cartesian Coordinate System. Like 3ds max and someother 3D modeler tools, for Blend: Z is up. The X axis points goes from left to right (West-East), and the Y axis goes from South to North.

Blink3D (SGAG) has the usual Cartesian Coordinate System:

This will be not a big problem

BECAUSE THE GEOGRAPHIC ORIENTATION IS THE SAME!!!

Another important thing is: the default orientation of the avatar is aproximately at the center of the Ground, looking for North.

You know that position in SGAG or Blink3D world is defined by 3 numbers (a Vector). The central position is : 0, 0, 0. When modeling we can think that each interval of Ground (a circle, a pin) has 1 meter, 100 centimeters. The primitive Blender Cube has 200. x 200 x 200.

For programing, for code, for vectores, we will use always the Blink3D coordinate system. And centimeters like unit!

In Blender, to zoom a View (not to scale an object), having the pointer over the View - do not click - roll the reel of the mouse. Only this.

IMPORTANT: Different of the usual Windows behavior, to "focus" a View you don't need to click it. Only the pointer needs to be over it.

The direction you roll the reel will define if you are zooming IN or OUT.

The zoom doesn't affect the other views.

If your mouse doesn't have a reeel use: Ctrl + press the medium button and drag the pointer.

To move the point-of-view (not an object), by example to view some object at left not beeing viewed, press Shift and pressing the medium button or the reeel of your mouse, drag the pointer to right.

To rotate the camera: pointer over the View, press the medium button or reel of the mouse and drag up, down, right, left and other movements . You will have different perspectives . You are not rolling the world or any "thing" but the entire View.

The default Views of Blender are "Top" and "Front" but you can have a "Side View" selecting: View | Side.

And to maximize a View:pointer over it and Ctrl + up-arrow key. Do it again to return.
