SGAG is totally free for the "normal" user. But, if you:
you can create customized SGAG objects to be installed, by any SGAG Constructor, at its SGAG gallery. You will be at the level of an "SGAG Wizard"!
Blink3D is a product created by Pelican Crossing, Inc..Pelican Crossing was conceived and founded in the winter of 2001. The company is headquartered in Mission Viejo, California. You can buy the software directly from its site.
After created what we call an external SGAG block ( or SGAG external ) you can put it available at your site for your use or you can try to offer it for others SGAG Constructors ending all the informations about it to:
sgag@dmu.com
Blink3D is not a 3D modeler like 3DS MAX or Maya. To work with Blink3D we have created a free kit having a free 3D modeler (Blender), a free system for design similar to Photoshop (GIMP) and some other complementary tools.
After having Blink3D in hands, you can download (right-click) what we call the:
It's a 20MB download but, if you have an ADSL line (requirement for SGAG) , it's nothing...
Inside the kit you have, to be installed:
1 - Blender 2.41 (Python 2.4 included)
Blender is an open source software for 3D modeling, animation, rendering, post-production, interactive creation and playback. Available for all major operating systems under the GNU General Public License. Here we have the version for Windows.
You can find more informations about Blender in its official site .
We will have some lessons about how to use Blender for creation of SGAG externals
2 - GIMP 2.2.10 and GTK+ 2.8.9
GIMP is the GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed piece of software for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring. It works on many operating systems, in many languages. We have here the Windows version. You need to install first the GTK+.
You can find more informations about GIMP in its official site .
You need to install, inside Blender, the
3 - Blender Mesh & Animation Exporter 1.0.7 and OgreXMLConverter 1.2.ORC1
It's an exporter to take meshes from Blender to Ogre XML. Requires the use of the OgreXMLConverter to create the final .MESH files used by Blink3D.
We will teach, step by step, how to install these softwares and customize them.
There are, inside the kit, a default .BLEND file to open Blender with a customized GUI, that will facilitate your modelings.
TIP: It's possible that , when you read this lesson, there are new versions of the used softwares. But we don't recomend the use of different versions from the presented in the lessons and exercices.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: DMU, doesn't have any agreement with Pelican Crossing. Blink3D doesn't require the use of Blender or GIMP. Some others modelers and design tools can be used.
